Day 3 already and we’re on to the topic of primers! To be honest, I don’t wear primer that often as I’ve never found that they work quite as well as they say they should. However, I do have two that I do quite like to wear when I want my skin to look a bit better and my foundation to last that bit longer!
Clarins Beauty Flash Balm
This is my favourite ‘primer’, despite not actually being sold specifically as a primer. This can be worn as a face mask or applied under make up to provide a smoother surface for makeup to be applied to and to make skin look healthier and more glowing. I love the feeling that this gives, it just leaves my skin feeling mositurised and nourished and my makeup just seems to apply so much better onto my skin. I use this when I am going to special event or in the evening when I would like my makeup to look flawless. Now i’d love flawless makeup all the time but it’s nice when you can feel the difference for a special occasion right? This is quite pricey at £29.00, however, I always get it as a gift with purchase when buying something else and hence I have never actually paid for a tube of this product. Score!
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer
I thought I had better include an actual primer into this post, but as I said, it’s not something I ever really buy so please excuse the fact that this is such a small sample size! This is quite a popular primer amongst beauty blogger and youtubers alike. It feels very siliconey when applied to the skin but leaves skin very smooth and even which is a lovely base to apply foundation on top of. A little does go a long way and it doesn’t leave a sticky feeling to the skin. Would I repurchase the full size? Probably not as I don’t use it enough to warrant £25.00 but it is a good product all the same!
Are there any good hydrating primers out there as I feel like they would be more suited to my skin type. Let me know in the comments if you have any good suggestions to convert me into a primer lover!
