14 Days of Makeup Favourites Challenge: Day 10

Today’s challenge was to try and pick out my favourite eye shadow, now although I have a lot of eye shadows in my dressing table, this particular one is probably my favourite. I’m talking about Mac Woodwinked which is a gorgeous coppery gold. IMG_0566 IMG_0567I am very sad to say that this is the only Mac eyeshadow that I currently own, however, once I have used up some of my others, I do plan to start building up a palette. My challenge is to use up as many other eyeshadows in the quickest possible time so I can get started, but I’m getting pretty impatient now! This one was bought for me as a present by a friend, many many years ago now and I don’t think I fully appreciated how beautiful it is until recently. When pressed onto the lid this is quite a deep gold, however, when you buff it out, it instantly turns into much more of a warm, coppery shade. When you combine the two techniques, it creates a gorgeous smokey eye effect in seconds and with minimal effort! I like to pair this with winged black liner, dewy skin and a bright red lip. Due to the coppery tones, this really makes blue and green eyes pop. I have blue eyes and they really do look brighter and more blue when I wear this, which I really like! It’s a nice added bonus to an already lovely product. The formula is very pigmented and the texture is very blendable. This retails for £13.00 from Mac’s website, however, you can pick this up slightly cheaper in Debenhams or House of Fraser I believe. Heres a

little swatch on my hand to show you the colour pay off: IMG_0568

Please ignore my weird hand appearance, we couldn’t quite get the right lighting when taking this picture so I was at an awkward angle!

What are your favourite Mac eyeshadows? Have you tried this colour out yourself? Do you have any good recommendations for me?

Much Love

xoxo
