I’m just going to put it out there, I am a big lover of the Naked 3 palette! If I am going on a night out I always reach for it and if I want to do something a bit more special in the daytime, I find myself gravitating towards it too. I just love the tones in it and I love the longevity of the shadows! So yesterday it got to 5pm and I hadn’t done any makeup at all and I thought ‘lets just go to town with this’! It was a severe case of all-dressed-up-and-nowhere-to-go and it looks like today may be the same! Every cloud has a silver lining and all that, so I thought I would turn it into a blog post explaining how I got the slightly more night-out appropriate eye looking I was rocking in my living room last night.
I’m only really going to go into my eye makeup as everything else was quite predictable, although I did use my Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation rather than my Chanel. It took a lot of work to get it to sit right, even after using the Smashbox Primer! If you want to know what I used for anything specifically then just leave me a comment.
I’m sure you’ve all seen the shade selection in the palette before but heres another image for you to swoon over. I think they are just beautiful! So, the first thing I did was prime my eyelids with Urban Decay’s Primer Potion and then I applied the lightest shade Strange to the inner third of my eye. I’m not a massive fan of under brow highlight but if you do like that then you could use this shade for that too. I then buffed the matte shade Limit into the crease and slightly above, to use as my transition shade. I wanted the outer corner to have more depth so I went back in with the darker matte shade Nooner and popped this on the outer corner and a little bit into the crease. One of my favourite shades from this palette for all over the lid is Liar. It is a lovely grey-taupe shade with a slightly pinky tone to it too. I applied this all over the lid and blended it in with the colours I had already applied. The key is to use a light hand and to also keep going back in with the other colours until you get it looking just how you like it. I went back in with the highlight shade again and also the matte shades in my crease as they weren’t quite strong enough. Now, for something a bit extra, I wet my brush and used the glittery golden shade Trick and placed this directly in the centre of my eyelid only. I wanted it to look a bit more sparkly! For the bottom lash line I blended Nooner in the outer third, Limit in the middle third and finally Strange in the inner third. Make sure you blend these together so it is more subtle and doesn’t look like three separate colours. I topped the look off with quite a bold winged eyeliner. I used the Soap & Glory Supercat for this as per usual.
Here’s how it turned out! I hope you like it as much as I do! I was also pretty happy with my winged liner! At first I was like ‘oh shit it’s gone wrong!’ but somehow it resurrected itself! On reflection I could have actually gone a little bit darker with this look but let’s be honest, I was only sat watching TV!
Let me know what you think of this!
Much Love
xoxo
