The TMI Tag!

Hey Guys,

I’m back from gallivanting around Europe and its back to studies for me! Sorry I’ve been a bit AWOL recently but fingers crossed we can get back into some kind of routine again here! My lovely friend Nicola tagged me to do the TMI Tag in her first ever YouTube video so I thought why not! Make sure you head over to watch her video and show her some love!

14: Zodiac sign? Libra
15: Quality you look for in a partner? Humour! If you can’t laugh with someone then what is the point?!

Guest blogger week, day 6: Molly’s dupe for Chanel’s Soleil Tan De Chanel

Did you check out my guest post on Valentina’s blog? If not here it is!

Much Love

Valentina Sofía

Hi Everybody, I’m Molly from The Rose Beauty Files and I’m so pleased that Valentina asked me to be a guest blogger for her today! I know summer is coming to a close, but I thought it would be a perfect time to discus a product that will help prolong that gorgeous golden glow that you’ve acquired over the last few months!

I’m sure most of you have heard of the infamous Soleil Tan De Chanel, however at £32, it is not a bargain beauty product! I was completely hooked when I tried it though but couldn’t justify that price for a bronzer, so off I went on the hunt for a cheaper alternative! I am pleased to say, I think I have found it!! The Bourjois Bronzing primer is effectively the same product only a little smaller but a lot cheaper in price!

Price – At only £9.99 this…

Cohorted September Box Review!

Another month comes and with it brings a new cohorted box!! I was pretty pleased with last months, although I had seen better, so I thought I’d have to try another to Get a final verdict. All I can say is I  am so happy I did! Here’s what was in this months box:

  • The Balm Nude ‘tude Palette – I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this in here! I have been reading reviews on this product for ages and I am so happy I’ve finally got my hands on it! The shadows are beautiful colours and are so pigmented! I wore them to work today and they look as great now as they did this morning, result! Here’s a picture of the colours inside, all twelve of them!!
  • The Balm Put A Lid On It Eyelid Primer 3.7ml Sample – This was a little bonus in this months box, although the tube is completely full and a tiny bit goes a very long way. I liked the way this felt when I used it this morning and they eyeshadow are completely crease free even after 9 hours. I’m impressed!
  • Molton Brown Energising Seamoss Bath & Shower – Clearly cohorted like Molton Brown as there was a body lotion last month and a shower gel this month. Unlike last months, I really like the smell of this and I’ll be taking this on holiday with me next week!
  • Gucci Première Shower Gel – I’m not a massive fan of two shower gels in one box but I do love the smell of Gucci Première so I’m not too fussed! Again this is a decent size and will be coming on holiday with me so expect to see it in this months empties!
  • Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Walkyrie – I was so excited when I saw this was included in the box! The colour is so me and I’ve been dying to try this particular Nars product for years! The colour is quite like MAC’s Mehr but is a little less cool toned and more rosey. I’ve worn it twice now and I love it! The texture is so silky soft and the pencil format makes it so easy to apply. My lips also look fuller which is never a bad thing! So pleased they included this!

I am so happy I got this box and I feel like the contents is great! I think I may have to buy Octobers as a little treat to myself! It is my birthday month afterall! Did you get this months box? What do you think of it?

Much Love

Little Life Update!

I honestly cannot believe that it has been a week since I last posted! Ideally I want to post everyday but clearly that is just not happening at the moment!! I thought I would do a short little post to let you know what’s been going on and to explain why posts may be a bit infrequent over the next few weeks!

So, at the moment I am working full time whilst it is still the holidays. This is the busiest time of the year for the company that I work for so it really is all hands on deck! The only reason I can write this is because I am at home feeling a bit ill today so i’m in bed! As you all know I tutor in the evenings too so that takes up my evenings and by the time I get home I just want to switch off so blogging has taken a little bit of a back seat over the last few weeks.

I have agreed to look after a lovely lady’s little puppy once a week too so I have my hands full there. She is absolutely adorable and spending time with her really makes me happy. I am looking forward to walks along the river and to the park and just having puppy cuddles when I am feeling down. I think I may write a post on how I came about this perfect little arrangement so keep your eyes peeled for that one! IMG_1773

I also go on holiday next week, woo! I go for 10 days which is the longest I’ve been away for a few years so I am really looking forward to it! I am debating taking my laptop with me so I can write a few posts by the side of the pool but I’ve not decided yet. I start back to uni two days after I get back from holiday so I’m weighing up wether it would be worth having 10 days of laptop free time or whether I need to have some internet activity! I’ll keep you posted on that one!

As i’ve just said, I am heading back to uni on the 29th September to start my second year. I cannot believe I am saying that but I am actually really excited to see all my friends and get stuck into it again. Although I do live at home, I still get a bit nervous about changing my routine so it still causes a little bit of disturbance! I am trying to get everything sorted well in advance this year so I can go on holiday and forget about it all, but as we all know, that never ever happens!

Finally, on the 9th October I turn 21 so I have a party to plan for and lots of exciting things coming up that may take up a bit of my time. I am still loving my little corner of the internet and I am proud of what it has become, however I just wanted to keep you all posted as the likelihood is that there won’t be any coherent schedule over the next few weeks as my life doesn’t have a coherent schedule either!!

Thank you to everyone who keeps reading my posts and commenting, it makes me so happy and hopefully when I settle back into a steady routine at uni, I can start building my blog up again and gain a few more lovely readers.

Much love

P.S I’ve added a little ‘Song of the moment’ section to my sidebar so make sure to hit play and listen to my current number one track!

August Empties!

So we are a little thin on the ground for empties this month which is rather unlike myself, however I have a tonne of products that are nearing their end so I feel I should be back to my usual level of performance next month! This month, I actually managed to find the time to sit down and finish two books, so I am classifying those as empties too in case any of you love to books as much as I do! Also, just a quick side note, sorry for the quality of the photograph, it had to be taken on my iPhone as Tom has his camera!

  • Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel 750ml – If you are regular reader of this blog, you will know that I adore this scent from the Body Shop, it’s so zesty and fresh and makes the whole bathroom smell amazing. It also doubles up as fantastic bubble bath! However, I feel like this is quite a summery scent and I think I’ll buy something else for autumn and winter. See you again in April/May my friend!
  • Zoeva Eyeshadow Fix in Pearl (2 Sample Sachets) – These were free gifts with my little Zoeva order, which is always a nice perk, however,  although I have used them both, I didn’t really like them at all.  They were very shimmery and quite gold toned and clung to my eyelids making them look a bit patchy. Safe to say I won’t be buying the full size of this one!
  • Soap & Glory Scrub Me Tender Hand Scrub – I got this way back when I did my Boots Staff Shop Haul and I’ve had it by my sink since. It is very scrubby which is great if you have particularly dry hands but I feel like it left quite an oily residue on my skin. My hands are not at all dry though so maybe I’m just not the target user of this product!
  • Urban Decay Perversion Mascara – I LOVE this mascara! It is the perfect wand for me and gives both length and volume to the lashes. I have another few mascaras to use up but then I think one of these may accidentally fall into my shopping basket!
  • MUA Malt Chocolate Glitter Eyeliner – I have had this a long long time but the colour is a really lovely warm chocolate brown shade which is perfect for the day time! It has a few specks of glitter in which makes for a nice change and the formulation is great! It also comes with a sharpener in the lid, what more could you want for one pound?!
  • Kerastase Masquintense For Thick Hair – I love the way this mask makes my hair feel, I have a big tub of this but this mini was great for taking to my Grandmas with me. It is pricey but if your hair is dry and needs a bit of love, this could be the product for you!
  • Kerastase Bain Satin 2 Shampoo – This is the shampoo that goes with the mask and again, I really like the way it feels on my hair. It lathers up really well and smells lovely and herbal which is always a good sign! This mini lasted me 2-3 washes so it was a great little freebie! I would definitely recommend it if you have dry hair. They also do a thin version if that’s more your hair type!

  • The Girl On The Train – This was such a gripping story! If you like a bit of mystery then this is the one for you! It’s very difficult to describe the story of this one without giving it all away, but it’s totally worth a read! A little bit of a whodunnit set in quite a different way to usual; you can see why it topped the charts for weeks!
  • Daughter – Again, another mystery! I love books that hook you in until the end and this one really did. Its a typical ‘girl goes missing’ kind of book but the way it’s written and the ending are quite unique. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and couldn’t put it down after I was a few chapters in!

I hope you enjoyed this slightly sparse empties! Do you like having books in the mix too? Have you got an empties post for this month? If so leave me the link in the comments as I love reading them! I’ll be back next month with my September empties and then it will nearly be my birthday!! *happy dance*

Much Love
