So we’ve come to the end of the first week in December and I’ve decided that every Sunday will be and advent calendar update which works out perfectly as the last day of advent calendars is Christmas Day which is also a Sunday! I have two advent calendars this year, the first being the humongous Look Fantastic Calendar and the second being a calendar made for the Blogger Calendar swap by my friend Jay. So lets see what I got on each day:
DAY 1 :
Look Fantastic – A mini (15ml) bottle of Pixi Glow Tonic
Blogger – A Festive Mason Jar cup
Firstly, I have tried Pixi Glow Tonic before and I really like it, perhaps not as much as glycolic pads but definitely a good acid toner. This travel size will probably be given to my mum as we share the calendar and split the contents accordingly. I want her to try acid toning so I think this a great chance for her to try it. This works out at around £1.08 in value so although it’s a good product, not a fantastic start money wise seeing as the calendar cost £70! In my blogger calendar, I got a lovely mason jar which is something I’ve wanted for a while so I can take instagram worthy pictures of my drinks! A good shout f)rom Jay!
Look Fantastic – Rituals The Ritual of Sakura Magic Touch Body Cream (70ml)
Blogger – PS..Super Matte Liquid Lipstick
I’m not a body lotion fan but I love Rituals and this cream smells gorgeous! It reminds me of the L’Occitane Almond range but with a little bit more fruitiness to it! A generous size too at 70ml which retails for £6.00 so definitely better on the pricing front! I am so happy Jay got me one of these and I actually wish I’d managed to get into Primark to get her some bits as I didn’t manage to get any makeup in her calendar as I couldn’t find anything I’d tried so didn’t know if it would be good or not. This is a lovely dark brown shade, quite similar to True Brown K so bet your bottom dollar there will be a comparison post sooner rather than later!
Look Fantastic – Inika Mineral Blusher in Blooming Nude (Full Size)
Blogger – 7th Heaven Strawberry Soufflé Mask
Ooh a makeup product and full size too! I’ve never tried a mineral blusher but the colour looks gorgeous, a kind of nude pink brown that I think would suit most people! This retails for £21 so thats amazing value for money! I’m so glad I settled on this calendar and it’s going to be great to try new brands as I’ve never tried Inika! From Jay I have a lovely face mask, I always used to use this brand when I was younger as I could pick them up in Boots so i’m intrigued to see what they are like now! I love strawberry scented things too!
Look Fantastic – This Works Sleep Plus Pillow Spray (5ml)
Blogger – Marks & Spencers Milk Chocolate Bubbly Santa
Now I only occasionally have trouble sleeping and I don’t like the smell of lavender so I’m not sure about this one, but I’ve never tried it so i’ll definitely give it a go! This works out at about £1.67 so not great but you can’t expect every day to be worth £21!! I’m pleased to be able to try something new out though. From Jay I got some choccy which has been eaten as i’m writing this now that the pictures have been taken. I can assure you, it was tasty!
So there’s days 1-4 and I’m sure you’ll agree both calendars have been pretty good so far! I’ve got to the point where I’m so excited i’m getting up early each morning to open them as I can’t wait any longer. On my mums days to open the Look Fantastic calendar I am literally chomping at the bit for her to wake up! See you next Sunday for a round up of next weeks goodies!
