I’ve never done a weekly roundup before but this week has been a little busy so I decided to sum it all up in one post. The start of the week was just like any other regular week, with university and tutoring going on but the end had some exciting blogging things going on and some non-blogging things too so I thought putting them in post would be a nice way to let you all know what’s been going on!
WEDNESDAY – 8th March
I’ve been helping out with the university open days which is something I love doing! Meeting prospective students and chatting about the uni really is a day well spent for me and also an incredibly easy way to make some extra money! I did campus tours and talks and got to get to know some lovely people. It also makes me realise just how much I love my university and course and how much I’m going to miss it when I graduate this summer! If you’re at uni now then i’d definitely recommend getting involved in the open days!
THURSDAY – 9th March
I was up bright and early today to make the drive to Lincoln with my Mum. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to give a lecture on blogging and social media to their third year marketing students, an opportunity I still can’t believe I managed to get! I’d done a whole presentation in advance that Tom has jazzed up to look very ‘Rose Beauty Files’ and I was not nervous in the slightest, just incredibly excited! I was planning to do a whole post on the question and answer session afterwards but there was only a couple and definitely not enough to make a post on. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and as someone who received an offer from Lincoln myself, it was so lovely to go back and see a bit more of what the uni was about. It’s an opportunity I will always be grateful for! Following the lecture my mum and I headed home to meet my dad and go for a celebratory prosecco lunch at Carluccios, it was the perfect way to celebrate the achievement and just have a bit of downtime.
Thursday was a real blogging heavy day as I was invited to go and see the Cirque Du Soleil Varekai show in the evening. Tom came along with me and we both got to marvel at the incredibly talented performers in the show. It was so nice to do something together, yet still be involved in the blogging world and reviewing shows would definitely be something I would love to do again in the future! I adore the theatre, concerts and performances in general so it was really a lovely lovely evening!
SATURDAY – 11th March
Saturday marked an event that i’d been looking forward to for ages! It was the East Midlands Blogger Meetup hosted at Copper in Nottingham city centre and was organised by the gorgeous Sophie from Sophie in Wonderland. It was an amazing opportunity to meet all my lovely local blogging friends and I finally managed to meet my blogging chum Rachael after two years of internet chatter! We even managed to fit some shopping in afterwards which was brilliant as we could natter on about all the products we loved! There was a lot of ‘oh yeah I saw your review on that’ and ‘I heard that on twitter’. It was easy to forget that she reads all my posts! The meetup would have been complete if the gorgeous Lora and Kara could have been there but sadly they had already got plans! Next time ladies!
SUNDAY – 12th March
Finally the end of the week arrived and it was time for some catching up and relaxation over mimosa’s with my friend from school, Bridget (hi if you’re reading!). We headed to Côte Brasserie for brunch and I had some delicious french toast and fruit salad. If I wasn’t such a lightweight and a poor student a second mimosa would definitely have been on the cards! It was great to catch up and hear what she’s getting up to and we definitely need to do it more often!
That’s the week wrapped up, hopefully you enjoyed this slightly more relaxed, diary style post as i’ve never done one before but I felt I had to commemorate such a lovely week! Here’s to more weeks like this hey?! I hope you all had lovely weeks and if not, I hope this week is ten times better! I’ve got two more blogging events this week coming up and I’m also doing another open day for uni so it’s all go again here!
Much Love
xoxo
