Asian Skincare Haul & First Impressions |Tony Moly Sheet Masks & Hell Pore!

Everyone has been going on about how good Asian skincare is and having only ever dipped my toe into that market, I decided to take the plunge and pick up a few goodies to try out. Two brands really stood out to me and they were Tonymoly and Elizavecca so when I found some items on Amazon at reasonable prices I wanted to give them a go!

  • Tonymoly I’m Real Skin Care Facial Masks (I paid £13.20 but they are now £12.60) – What better way to try these masks out than to try the entire collection?! The set comes with 11 masks inside so they are priced at just over £1 each which is amazing considering the lemon mask was once being sold along on Cult Beauty for £6!! There are some really weird sounding flavours though, Red Wine, Broccoli and Tomato just make me feel a bit weird when it comes to putting them on my face! So far i’ve tried 4 of them, the Tea Tree, the Aloe, the Rice and yes, the Red Wine! My favourites have been the tea tree and aloe by far as they felt the most soothing on the skin. I hated the red wine one as it smelt weird and wouldn’t stick to my face! The rice mask was okay but nothing particularly special. I’m intrigued to try the rest of the masks out but so far they’ve not been particularly special, however for the price, I would definitely buy them again!
  • Elizavecca Milky Piggy Hell Pore Clean Up Mask (I paid £13.10 but it’s now just £13) – I love those videos where you see people rip their blackheads out and i’d heard that this one is particularly good at doing that! It’s a liquid mask that sets to an almost plastic like texture that you can peel off. I’ve tried this out once and so have my brother and Tom. I tried it all over and found that I had applied it a bit too thinly, even though that is what’s recommended! It did remove dead skin, small black heads and all my baby hairs but it wasn’t WOW. I didn’t find it uncomfortable to remove though so thats a plus and if bits did stick or start to hurt, it removes very easily with a little bit of warm water. Tom has some stubborn blackheads and this pretty much did nothing for those annoyingly. It seems that the only ones it can remove are near to the surface small ones! My brother effectively had a facial wax with this as nearly his entire mask was covered in his baby hairs. Not quite what he was looking for but it did take some black heads too so he was happy. I have to say that this does leave your skin feeling incredibly soft though which was something I was not expecting!

So overall I’m still a little on the fence with Asian skincare from what i’ve tried. I have seen tonnes of items in my local TK Maxx though so I’m going to try and pick some more up soon to give it another try. I will definitely keep using these items but sadly I’ve not found anything worthy of a holy grail title just yet. Have you tried any Asian skincare? What are your favourites, I need recommendations!

The Best Beauty Haul Ever?!

Yesterday I dragged my mum off to a Christmas market in Nottingham as the lovely Becky & Holly Sheeran were going to be there and i’ve been dying to have a chat to them for years now! What I didn’t know was that the girls were bringing along sacks full of their unwanted PR products to sell off for charity and let me tell you, the prices were INSANE! IMG_2077.JPGHere’s what I picked up whilst I was there:

  • MAC Liptensity Lipstick in the shade Habanero (RRP £17.50/Paid £7)- This caught my eye when the Liptensity range came out and if you read (this post) then you will know how much I adore the formula! This is a bright and vibrant orange colour that has the slightest hint of red to it making it slightly more wearable than say Morange by MAC.
  • MAC Liptensity Lipstick in the shade Burnt Violet (RRP £17.50/Paid £7) – I love dark lipsticks with an absolute passion and as soon as I saw another shade in the Liptensity range I grabbed it and never looked back! This has a lovely purple/red undertone to it which makes it not appear as dark on the lips and pairs perfectly well with MAC’s Nightmoth Lipliner!
  • MAC Liptensity Lipstick in the shade Double Fudge (RRP £17.50/Paid £7) – In the packaging this looks nearly identical to Burnt Violet but when swatched they are totally different! Double fudge is an intense dark brown that looks really rich and deep on the lips. It is the perfect bold brown shade for this time of the year and is something I will get a tonne of wear out of!
  • First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Pads (RRP £28/Paid £10) – I love facial pads and I’m almost finished with my tub of Nip & Fab pads. I’ve seen this talked about by many a youtuber and blogger and always wanted to try them but felt the price put them a little bit out of my reach. Needless to say these were an easy purchase for me and I’ll let you know if they’re worth the extra splurge or not in the future!
  • Urban Decay Liquid Moondust Shadow in Solstice (RRP £15/ Paid £6) – I have had my eye on these since they came out so I was so excited to see them there! Zodiac is my ultimate favourite but Solstice was a close second so imagine my surprise when I saw it just lying there! I tried this out last night and the colour is stunning, however it did crease which surprised me, so next time I’m gonna try primer potion with it and see if that helps! Watch this space for a review in the next few weeks!
  • Urban Decay Liquid Moondust Shadow in Magnetic (RRP £15/Paid £6) – Not a colour I would initially jump towards, however I have been wearing more purple tones recently so I just bit the bullet! It really is incredibly pretty swatched and I’m going to enjoy trying to create a look with it!
  • Jouer Lip Creme in the shade Dulce De Leche (RRP £15/Paid £6) – I don’t usually go for light toned nudes as I feel they wash me out, however this really appealed to me and I’m kind of kicking myself I didn’t pick up more shades as there were loads there! It is quite drying and I’m still not sure if I’m on the Liquid Lipstick bandwagon or not but I needed at least on nude in this haul right?!
  • Urban Decay Cream Vice Lipstick in the shade Firebird (RRP £15/Paid £6) – Holy Crap this shade is gorgeous! Never ever would I have picked this up but it is beautiful! It’s like nothing else I own as it’s almost pink and purple at the same time! The cream formula is so lovely to wear and is also intensely pigmented! I was so happy when I swatched this at home that I declared that I never wanted to take it off!
  • Urban Decay Comfort Matte Vice Lipstick in the shade Heroine (RRP £15/Paid £6) – I know what you’re thinking, ‘but Molly, that’s BLUE!’ but I just had to have it! The comfort formula is so lovely to wear and the pigmentation is amazing! Although the finish is matte, it definitely feels more like a cream on the lips thankfully! This means it applies like a dream too! Let’s see when I get to wear this bad boy then!
  • Urban Decay Mega Matte Vice Lipstick in the shade Pandemonium (RRP £15/Paid £6) – I was clearly in a crazy colour mood when I was buying all these but I don’t have a true purple shade! The closest I have is Stylists Tip by MAC which definitely has more pinky undertones to it than this. The mega mattes are not as easy to wear or as comfortable but they’re definitely not the worst i’ve tried! Liquid lipsticks still take that top spot!

I’ve included swatches below for you, please excuse the mess on my hand, I went to a gig the night before and the stamp would not come off!!

Left: (Top to bottom) Magnetic, Solstice, Dulce De Leche| Right: (Top to Bottom) Heroine, Habanero, Burnt Violet, Double Fudge, Firebird, Pandemonium

It was amazing that Becky & Holly did such a lovely thing for charity and it was a pleasure to meet them both. They actually live in Nottingham too so we’re hoping to get some bloggers together soon which will be lovely! Which shade is your favourite?

My First Ever Colourpop Order!

The other week Colourpop advertised free international shipping and being the beauty lover that I am, I couldn’t turn such a good offer down! It was the first time I had ever ordered anything from America (beauty wise) so I wasn’t sure a) how it was going to work and b) what it would end up costing me! I decided to just throw caution to the wind and buy what I wanted and suffer the consequences later!

Colourpop are most famous for their eyeshadows and lip products and despite having too much of each of those categories, I decided lip products was the way to go! I wanted a wide range of colours, formulas and textures to really try out the brand so I could give you guys a good opinion! First up, I bought some of the Lippie Stix as I have heard so much about them over the years and I’ve always wanted to try them. They had a great set available called the ‘Staycation’ set and it ticked off a large variety of colours for me in one block so in the bag that went! It features six matte Lippie Stix with lots of beautiful colours all for $25:

Cookie: True nude beige in a matte finish
Brink: A warm dusty taupe in a matte finish
Grunge: A cool-toned plum brown in a matte finish
LBB: Rich plum wine in a matte finish
I Heart This: Red based fuchsia in a matte finish
Bossy: Classic blue red in a matte finish

Cookie & Brink are great every day colours with one being a more pink-toned nude and the other being more beige/brown.

Brink Lippie Stix

Grunge is possible my favourite of the bunch as it is very similar to MAC’s Whirl but with a bit more warm. LBB is a beautiful colour but randomly I found it made my lips sting quite a bit whilst I wore it and it had a bit of a funny smell. Maybe I just got a dud product but it’s not the end of the world. I will try it out again and see what happens! I Heart This is a lovely bright pink  and, as with all of the Lippie Stix, the shape of the product makes it so seamless to apply! No set would be complete without a true red and Bossy got this shade bang on! It is just so beautiful and the consistency so creamy! This set is great as you basically get one colour for free as individually they retail for $5!

I did order one other Lippie Stix and a matching liner as the colour just looked gorgeous online. They’re in the shade Bichette which is a ‘Deep red wine in a matte finish’ and it’s perfect for the Autumn. The liner is just as creamy and does make this darker shade that bit easier to apply, but in the grand scheme of things, is probably not that necessary. It looks completely different on to the other dark shades I own and is definitely the most ‘Ox blood’ shade that I have found!

Next up is the Ultra Satin Lip and oh how I wish I had bought more than just one of these! I think I just clicked shades that I liked and didn’t really think about how many of each formula I was getting and this formula is just the best thing ever! It is so soft on the lips without drying them out and also doesn’t crease which is great! It applies better than any other liquid lipstick I have tried and I am DYING to get my hands on more of these shades! I picked up the colour Mess Around which is described as a ‘mid-tone grey beige’ and that is definitely pretty apt! It reminds me of MAC Stone and as you all know, that is a shade I completely adore! I am going to get so much wear out of this and believe me, I will be buying more of these in the future! These satin lip’s retail for a mere $6!

Mess Around Ultra Satin Lip

Although I’m not a glossy lip kinda gal, I did give a couple of the Ultra Glossy Lips a go as they had some gorgeous metallic shades and I am eager to jump on that metallic bandwagon! I picked up My Jam which is a ‘warm golden nude shimmering with silver and gold in a Metallic finish’ and Cheat Code which is a ‘rich copper in a Metallic finish’. These are completely packed with metallic sparkle and goodness and are seriously pigmented for a glossy finish product! Cheat code is like the lip equivalent of Amber Lights and is definitely quite a bold statement!

Cheat Code Ultra Glossy Lip

My Jam is a touch more subdued but even when the gloss has gone, the glitter is on there for hours! These also retail for $6.

Last but by no means least is the two Ultra Metallic Lips that I bought and these are like a hybrid between the shimmer of the Glossy Lips and the pigmentation and formula of the Satins! I got the shades Man Eater, which is a metallic rose gold, and Zebra which is metallic bronze.

Man Eater Ultra Metallic Lip

These last for ages and I feel like an actual princess when I wear them! I am so on board with this metallic trend and I can’t wait to continue to rock these through Autumn and Winter! These are also only $6!

Top-Bottom: LBB, I Heart This, Cookie, Bossy, Grunge, Bichette, Bichette Liner, Brink, Cheat Code, Zebra, Man Eater, Mess Around, My Jam

Thats all the naughty lip goodies that I purchased from Colour pop, for those of you who are interested in more of the logistics, I paid $66 for all 13 of these products and they took about 10 days to arrive. I sadly had to pay £18.03 in shipping and duties on arrival here in the UK which is definitely a bit of a bummer! Other than that, I am definitely going to be buying more products from them in the future. The quality and pigmentation are insane and for the price you really can’t go wrong! Even with the tax and duties included, I still only payed £5.20 on average per product which is a complete bargain! Have you tried anything from Colourpop before? What are your favourite products?

Much Love

p.s i’ve only included a few lip swatches otherwise it would be a bit picture heavy but if you want to see any in particular then let me know and I’ll sort it out!

Spa Day Haul!

So if you read yesterday’s post, you’ll know that Mum and I headed off for a spa day last Friday. We both paid a little trip to the shop as we saw they stocked Clarins products and we are both massive fans of their stuff! There was an offer on on the day that if you bought two products, one to be skincare, you got a free goodie bag. Now we are suckers for freebies so off we headed to bag ourselves some goodies. Here’s what I got:

  • Clarins Instant Concealer in shade 1 – I have had this in the past and I absolutely love it! It is so creamy and so pigmented that I couldn’t help but pick it up again! This is great for undereyes and covering blemishes so it really is a fantastic one to have in your makeup bag! Sadly it only comes in four shades, I wear number one, mum flits between shades two and three and my Nan wears shade 3 so this one really isn’t for anyone with more than a medium skin tone sadly! They have only recently added shade number four and I don’t know quite how dark that comes but looking at the others it won’t be very dark!
  • Clarins After Sun Moisturising Self Tan – I’ll be on holiday in Tenerife when you read this post so this really caught my eye. It is said to help moisturise and cool skin whilst enhancing and prolonging your tan! This really appealed to me as I am so so pale that I thought what the hell and decided to give it a try! I will update you after the holiday with my thoughts and perhaps I’ll do a before and after of me looking like a milk bottle and then hopefully a bit more golden!
  • Clarins Moisture Rich Body Lotion – This was the first freebie in the goodie bag and it is such a generous sample size! It is a full 100ml of product which lasts forever as I have used this moisturiser before! The full size is 200ml and is worth £30 so you are getting a £15 product for free!
  • Clarins Exfoliating Body Scrub for Smooth Skin – This was the second freebie and is again 100ml and the full size is 200ml and £30 so another £15 freebie! This is a really gritty exfoliator and something I’ve liked using for a few years now. The tube makes it nice and handy to use and it smells so refreshing!
  • Clarins Relax Bath & Shower Concentrate – This is one of my favourite ever products from Clarins as it smells divine and really does make you relax when you use this in the bath. A little bit lasts you a really long time and this sample is 100ml which is half the normal size again so it will last forever and is worth £10. I’ve never had to buy the full size as they always include these in their gifts!
  • Clarins ‘Relax’ Body Treatment Oil – I’ve never actually tried this product but I’m intrigued to see if it’s worth the money as the full size is £40 for 100ml! This sample is pretty generous at 30ml so i’ll be able to give it a good test run!

All in all my freebie was worth £52 and seeing as I only paid £43 I don’t think that’s too bad at all! It even came in a super cute double sided canvas makeup bag! To make it even better, I still had £24 left on my spa gift card so it was even cheaper! Have you tried any Clarins products? What are your favourites?

A Little Beauty Bay Haul!

Today my Beauty Bay haul finally arrived and I couldn’t wait to share with you what I picked up! This is going to be the last makeup treat for a while as I’ve been spending loads this summer and need to reign it in a bit!! I only picked up a couple of things but I am so excited about them all so I was so excited when they landed on my doorstep!

  • Morphe Brushes 12 Piece Black and White Travel Brush Set (£19.75) – I’ve been wanting to try some of the Morphe Brushes for ages now, in particular the eye brushes. This set has a good range of eye brushes but also a couple of face brushes too so I get a good chance to try them out. There are some lovely crease brushes and also some lid brushes so I should be able to get good use out of these! The bristles remind me a lot of the Zoeva Brushes and I love them so I am optimistic!
  • Violet Voss Glitter in Marlee (£7.25) – This glitter really caught my eye as I haven’t seen anything like it before! It’s a gorgeous chocolate brown shade that looks gorgeous from my research online! I feel like this will be something I get a lot of wear out of. I did actually do a look with this today and posted it over on Instagram so I’ll pop a picture in here:IMG_1737If you want to see how I created it in more detail then let me know and I’ll do a Face of the Day style post!
  • Violet Voss Glitter in Coppertini (£7.25) – Annoyingly not on beauty bay anymore, I bought this to go over the top of MAC’s Copper Sparkle Pigment! Its that similar warm, orange tone that looks amazing with blue eyes and will amp up warm toned makeup looks when I want a touch more sparkle!
  • Violet Voss Glitter in Galaxy 3D (£7.25) – Again sadly this isn’t online any more and is definitely the most crazy item I bought! It’s a much chunkier silver glitter that reflects all different colours! This was a bit of an impulse buy, but I think it will look good with the right makeup! I may need to play around with this for a bit to make sure it doesn’t look tacky!

So just four items for todays haul and I don’t plan there to be any more hauls this month as I’m restricting my spending a little bit! I’m so excited to play with all these new goodies and I will be sure to create some looks with these for you all! Make sure you check out my instagram as that’s where I post most of my looks first!

Review: Benefit Ka Brow & High Brow Glow Pencil

If you read yesterdays post, you’ll know I made a sneaky little trip to the Benefit counter in Boots the other day. I wanted to try out some of their new brow products as their Brow Zings has been one of my favourites for absolutely years now! The lovely sales assistant tried out Ka Brow on me as she said it’s like Brow Zings but packs more of a punch and she guaranteed me I’d like it. A high statement but she wasn’t wrong! I also picked up the High Brow Glow pencil and I thought I’d share my thoughts with you today on how I’m finding them!

Firstly, let’s talk about Ka Brow! This is a brow pomade in a little pot with a diddy eye brow brush included in the lid. This is a genius idea and is great for space saving when you are travelling (which I am right now as you are reading this!). There are plenty of colours to choose from but I got the shade 2 which gives me a nice prominent brow without looking too scouse brow!! The pot looks quite small to begin with but I expect this to last me quite a while as Benefit products are renowned for lasting ages and ages!! The one thing that has impressed me the most with this product is the sheer lasting power! Seriously, it lasts all day and looks as good when I come to take it off as when I put it on first thing in the morning. My brows also stay in shape throughout the day and the hairs are all tamed so this is an ultimate winner in my eyes! I have found that Benefit cream products dry out reasonably quickly in the past so I’m hoping the same can’t be said with this product but only time will tell with that one!

The other product I picked up was the High Brow Glow, something that I didn’t think I’d need or use. I’m not really a brow bone highlight kind of girl as I have always found them too strong, however, this is such a beautiful subtle glow and I am in love! The formula of this pencil has been changed and it is now the softest, most creamy and blendable formula you could wish for! The colour I picked up is the golden shade but they do also have a pinky toned shade. A little goes a very long way with this and I have used it every day for a week and I haven’t come close to sharpening it once! It’s definitely a product worth trying out as it is unlike anything else I have tried over the years!

Overall, I am thoroughly impressed with Benefit’s brow offerings! I am still not bowled over by their Gimme Brow but everything else has been great! Brow Zings is still a firm favourite and Goof Proof is the most handy product ever but for the time being these two newbies are sticking in the makeup bag as they make my brows look amazing! Have you tried either of these products or anything from the Benefit brows range? What do you think of them?

Nip & Fab Skincare Haul!

I’m always looking for new skincare, particularly things that will help keep it clear and create a good balance between dry and oily as my skin has patches of both. I’ve been watching a lot of Caroline Hirons videos recently and if you’ve read my acid toners post, you’ll know that’s something I’ve been encorporating into my routine recently. I loved the nip and fab pads so much I decided to do a whole haul from Amazon! Here’s what I picked up:

  • Glycolic Scrub Fix – I’ve used this once so far and I was seriously impressed! It’s a really fine and grainy exfoliator that leaves your skin unbelievably smooth afterwards! I think I even like it as much as my holy grail Liz Earle scrub and that’s saying something!
  • Glycolic Fix Serum – I was in need of a new serum and seeing as I had enjoyed the odd so much I decided to try the serum. This is a very thick gel when it comes out of the pump but rubs in beautifully and soaks in at a good speed. I’ve been really happy with this product so far!
  •  Kale Fix Makeup Removing Pads – I grabbed these just out of interest as a quick pre cleanse before I go in with my balm cleansers. They do have that cucumber style smell which I really don’t like but they are well soaked so they take off makeup with ease. I also like them for taking makeup off my hand when I’ve been busy applying it!
  • Bee Sting Fix Eye Cream – This is one of the biggest successes of the haul as I’m very hit and miss with eye creams! This is incredibly thick and so I do find myself using a bit more than I plan to! It does also seem to be going down quickly so that’s not too fantastic! However it moisturises my eyes and makes them look awake and plump and I am really impressed! If you are allergic to bees stings then unfortunately you can’t use this one though!
  • Glycolic Fix Overnight Purifying Gel – The first time I used this, I really liked it, it left my skin soft and bright in the morning. The second time, it reacted on my skin and completely bobbled! So, I’m still undecided on this one!
  • Glycolic Fix Night Pads – I bought these as they are slightly stronger than the original ones I bought so hopefully they’ll pack a punch to my skincare a few times a week. So far I can’t really tell the difference between the two but my skin does look clear and blackheads have diminished!

Have you tried anything from nip and fab? If you have any good suggestions please leave them in the comments! So far I have been really impressed with this brand so I am looking out for other products that take my fancy!
